Foley Family Wines acquired Silverado Vineyards, originally founded by the Disney family, in 2022, making this vintage their first. There’s no plan to change the origin or composition of this big-shouldered and iconic wine – single variety (Cabernet Sauvignon), single vineyard, single clone, hence its name “Solo.” The Stags Leap District origin of this muscular Cabernet explains its lovely combination of immense dark fruit offset balanced by savory notes. This nicely textured powerhouse, weighing in at a 14.9 percent stated alcohol, has an attractive hint of bitterness in the finish that adds to its stature. It can be enjoyed now with grilled lamb chops.
