Isole e Olena consistently produces a stylish Chianti Classico regardless of what Mother Nature throws at them. Due to heat, 2023 was a difficult year, but you wouldn’t know it from tasting this wine, which is a blend of mostly Sangiovese and a little Canaiolo. Their midweight-plus release from 2023 displays ripe fruit flavors, yet there’s plenty of complexity lurking throughout this beauty. Nothing is overdone in this perfectly harmonious wine. Mouth-watering acidity keeps it fresh. Enjoy it tonight with a rich pasta dish or grilled meat.
