Well done Potomac Point Vineyard and Winery! I knew nothing about this winery before tasting this stunning Albariño. Who knew someone in Virginia was making Albariño, not exactly a well-known grape, especially on these shores? (Albariño, for those who don’t know, is the signature grape of Rías Baixas in Spain’s northwest corner). So, I went to their website where you’d be excused it you thought it was an event venue rather than a winery. My advice, learn about the winery by finding and tasting this spicy gem. It has the invigorating bite emblematic characteristic of Albariño, accompanied by good depth. An engaging hint of bitterness in the finish amplifies the clean fresh profile. It would be a good foil for highly flavored or spicy food.
