Mas Romani, Priorat (Catalonia, Spain) 2004

($70, Eric Solomon): Made from the classic blend of 50% Carignan and 40% Grenache (with the remaining portion split between Merlot and Syrah), this succulent Priorat blends power and elegance.  Not over done, as can be the risk with wines from this region, La Basseta is a stylish wine.  This is a producer to follow, but look for a name change, to Mas Alta from Mas Romani, with the 2005 vintage. 92 Michael Apstein Feb 27, 2007
