($23, Frederick Wildman and Sons Ltd.):  Hugel, one of the brightest lights in Alsace, excels with their Rieslings, late harvest wines, and just about everything.  This “classic” Pinot Gris delivers a touch of sweetness balanced by acidity that leaves the mouth clean and fresh.  It’s a great choice as an aperitif-style wine or with spiced foods because the sweetness will offset the fire.
