($22, Kobrand Wine & Spirits): Craggy Range specializes in single vineyard wines. I’m not familiar enough with vineyard-to-vineyard differences among New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to know whether the beauty of this one stems from the vineyard or the producer. Whatever the reason, it’s a stunning wine. It’s herbal and grassy–in a lively, refreshing way–but not herbaceous or green. There’s a captivating creamy quality rarely found in New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It’s this textural element that separates Craggy Range’s version from the rest of the pack.
