($28, Louis Latour USA): Let’s face it: Buying Pouilly-Fuissé is, figuratively speaking, akin to walking through a minefield. Wines from this appellation, the best from the Mâconnais region of Burgundy, range from insipid to stellar. This 2012, from one of Burgundy’s top négociants, is easy to recommend. The opulence found in the 2012 whites in general, and this one in particular, dovetails perfectly with Latour’s crisp and riveting style. The wonderfully bright finish amplifies the wine’s creamy nuances.
