($60): Jayson, Pahlmeyer’s second label, offers an introduction to the luxurious style for which Pahlmeyer has become known at a lower price.  The wines are typically released earlier — the 2012 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is Pahlmeyer’s current release — because they are more approachable.  The 2013 Jayson Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has a seductively rich glossiness that envelops its black cherry-like nuances.  This polished Pinot Noir is ripe and fruit-focused with savory nuances that add complexity.  Lovely now with grilled beef, I suspect it will blossom more with a few years of bottle aging.
