($60): Vasco Sassetti made a powerful brooding Brunello in 2010 that conveys a healthy dose of dark minerality and earthiness that balances its ripeness. Despite its power, this is a fresh and lively wine. An attractive black cherry skin subtle bitterness reinforces the seriousness of this Brunello. Beautifully structured with firm, not aggressive tannins, it’s clearly a wine for the cellar. Come back in a decade and you’ll be thrilled, I’m sure.
