($15): It’s refreshing to find a California Chardonnay that’s balanced and delivers so much enjoyment for $15.  The winemaking team has walked the line nicely by imparting a touch of seductive creaminess and a subtle patina of oakiness without going overboard.  It’s round enough to be enjoyed as an aperitif, as in “I’ll have a glass of Chardonnay,” but it has enough acidity to allow it to hold up with a roast chicken.
