($18, Kobrand):  Central Otago is one of the best areas in New Zealand for Pinot Noir because of its cool climate.  And this one is a good example of why the region has the reputation for the varietal that it does.  Ripe, but not sweet, this Pinot Noir has enough savory component to keep it interesting.  It delivers lovely combination of fresh and dry cherry-like flavors enhanced with bright acidity.   It’s a classy wine at an unusually attractive price for Pinot Noir. 89 Michael Apstein Nov 9, 2010
