Col Vetoraz, founded about 30 years ago, has made the decision to make only Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG and label it as such, refusing to put Prosecco on the label. They feel that the generic Prosecco name has destroyed the reputation of the fine wines from Valdobbiadene area, the best part of the Prosecco region with the Cartizze Cru being the best of the best)/. They have a valid point. This graceful and long sparkling wine shows the heights that the Prosecco region can reach and deserves to go forth under a different name. Dancing on the palate, this lithe beauty combines delicate mineral notes with subtle peachy ones. It will be a great choice for sipping or drinking this summer.
