($15): Although the vast majority of Sauvignon Blanc coming from New Zealand is produced in the Marlborough regions, other areas of that country make excellent examples with slightly different character. This one, for example, from North Canterbury achieves a lovely balance by being a touch broader with fractionally less grassy pungency. It will still awaken the palate, but just doesn’t shake you by the lapels.
