Chile’s Maipo Valley is THE place for Bordeaux varieties, which explains why this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Cabernet Franc (42%), and Carménère come from there. The gorgeous 2021 is a seamless blend of these varieties, which were vinified separately and then blended. The final complex wine delivers a splendid array of dark fruit, herbal notes, and spice, all wrapped in supple tannins and supported by brilliant acidity that keeps it lively and fresh. For what it delivers, it is a bargain.
